HALLOWEEN

This year's Halloween was different -- no trick or treating, no Halloween ward party, no dressing up, not even pumpkin carving!!

But we did organize and host a Halloween 5K!
To which about 10 people showed up and everyone walked away with sweet prizes from our sponsors!

And, since we are so excited to have the Jamisons over for a Halloween lunch tomorrow, we spent the evening baking up a Tarte aux pommes (French apple tarte) and passing out candy!

Of course, we wanted a little bit of Halloween spirit in our home, so we put out some decorations,

I styled my hair festively,

(that's my new favorite apron that I made with the help of my kind friend, Cynthia)

and Tyler was a "relaxed" Batman.

Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue!!!

Yesterday, Cynthia and I decorated this awesome cake for Cynthia's son's third birthday party!!
It was a lot of work, but soo fun, and I've decided I really like decorating cakes!!

Here's the step-by-step:

Laying the fondant...

Adding the accessories and another layer...

The top layer and BUZZ! (the H is for Hunter, the birthday boy!)

Finally, the Lightyear wings and the final product!

Pretty cool, right?! PS this is what we were going for, and I think we did pretty good!

Here's the cake at Hunter's birthday party!

Hunter was so excited and all the kids loved the cake!

What did you do today?

Some of you may have gone to work, stayed home and cared for your kids, or went to school...and I...I did this:

created the costumes for Tyler's fox puppets to wear in their debut film.

Background - Tyler promised his students that he would film a love story between Zorro & Zorra, his spanish-speaking foxes, who have also become the Spanish class mascots.

The lovely Zorra....

...who is recused by the one & only crime fighting Zorro....

They fall in love and get married.
