(All recipes are for about 2-3 servings. Just add ingredients in the order they are listed, and blend!)
Tropical Smoothie 1.0
(In Hawaii this summer, I started off every morning with a version of this smoothie!)
1 fresh papaya
2 fresh mangoes
2 frozen banana chunks*
about 1/4 - 1/2 cup coconut water
about 1/4 cup Passion Orange Guava juice (or pineapple juice, or any other exotic-type fruit juice)
4-6 ice cubes (depending on how thick you like it)
*With the frozen banana chunks, I usually peel the banana, then break it into about 3 or 4 chunks that I freeze in a big ziplock and that's what I use in my smoothies.
Tropical Smoothie 2.0
1 fresh papaya
3-4 cups watermelon
1 chunk frozen banana
a little less than 1/4 cup Greek yogurt (or plain yogurt, or vanilla yogurt)
ice
coconut water (opt)
Tropical Smoothie 3.0
2 fresh mango
about 3/4 cup fresh pineapple
2-3 frozen banana chunks
about 1/4 cup coconut water
ice
The great thing about these smoothies is that you can mix and match the different fruits! There are countless combinations and I could never write out all the different mixtures!
Cran-Raspberry Smoothie
1/2 cup frozen raspberries
1-2 frozen banana chunks
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup water
about 4 Tablespoons frozen cranberry juice concentrate
ice
dash of Flax seed and chia seed (opt)
I like to make this one kinda runny so it's just a cold, light, slushy-type of drink. Or, add some ice cream and you have a milkshake!
Banana Smoothie
1 - 1 1/2 cup milk
1 fresh banana
1 frozen banana chunk
about 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
a few drops yellow food coloring
2-4 ice cubes
Add a couple scoops of Nesquik, and you have a Chocolate Banana Smoothie!
Watermelon Lime Smoothie (My favorite on a hot summer day!)
4 cups watermelon
juice from 1 - 2 limes (depending on how tart you want it)
1/2 tsp lime zest
a couple Tablespoons milk
1-2 tsp honey
ice
Remember, it's all about creativity, and adding whatever you like, or have in your freezer at the moment! And I apologize for my lack on specificity with measurements, but it's really just up to you whether you like them thicker or more runny, sweeter or creamier, etc.
Happy blending!!
